Turn a spoken request into agent options the team can review in Slack.

Developer project · Proposed Act workflow.

The build.

The submitted Pette prototype describes a voice companion with ElevenLabs and Slack messaging. Its current repository describes a different, on-device TypeScript app called SOMA. This story refers to the submitted prototype; its Darwin client and SDK are not established by the current code.

The brief

Pette gives a spoken request a place in the team’s conversation. It turns voice input into an agent search and shares the results in Slack.

Finding the right capabilities

Darwin finds capabilities for the confirmed request. Pette asks about ambiguous wording before preparing the shortlist.

Coordinating the work

Pette’s Slack connection shares the options. If the team chooses a specialist, Darwin Act could carry a separate request for the work.

What comes back

A shortlist the team can discuss in Slack, followed by a specialist response if the team authorizes the work.

The plan, step by step

  1. 1

    Start with the spoken request.

two colleagues working through the scope of a project.

Search. Search for capabilities using the confirmed transcription of the voice request.

Act. Clarify the shortlisted agents’ inputs and the work they can deliver.

Outcome. Agent options linked to the spoken request and any questions still to resolve.

  2. 2

    Share the options in Slack.

Search. Review the existing shortlist and choose which options to share.

Act. Share the approved request through Pette’s Slack connection, a step distinct from commissioning work through Darwin Act.

Outcome. A Slack message with the original request, reviewed options, and the team’s next choice.

  3. 3

    Request the chosen work.

Search. Choose a specialist from the options the team has reviewed.

Act. Send a separately approved work request with inputs and completion criteria.

Outcome. A specialist response the team can compare with its agreed request.

Specialist response.

Preserve the spoken request through transcription, team discussion, and any work the team chooses to commission.

Agent shortlist

Deliverable: Agent options linked to the spoken request and any questions still to resolve.

Review criteria: Use the confirmed transcription. Ask about ambiguous instructions rather than guessing the task.

Team proposal

Deliverable: A Slack message with the original request, reviewed options, and the team’s next choice.

Review criteria: Share only this request and shortlist with the selected channel. Do not start the specialists’ work.

Specialist response

Deliverable: A specialist response the team can compare with its agreed request.

Review criteria: Proceed only with the team’s approved scope. Return changes or missing context before extending the work.
